Railways made a beginning in Nagpur in 1867, when a portion of the Bombay-Bhusaval-Nagpur line was opened for traffic. In 1881, it was connected to Kolkata via the Nagpur State Railway of Chhattisgarh. The laying of the foundation stone of the existing building was done in 1906. It was officially inaugurated on 15 January 1925 by then Governor Sir Frank Sly. Before 1924, the original railway station was located towards the east of its current site near Shukrawari Lake. The present-day railway station was also put up in the pre-independence days. It has become a major tourist destination.
R	Rohit gour on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have visited many railway stations and found this one is excellent regarding facilities available here. Good interior and exterior view. Cleanliness 9/10. Water availability 9/10. Large parking ?️ area. Good connectivity from station to rest of the city. All platforms(total 9) are in parallel line. Excellent waiting area for upper class ticket holders and good one for others.

A steam engine locomotive ? is founded in front of the junction.. Buliding is great.. it gives royal look.. Several security checks are here. Lot's of Shops, restaurants and various types of vending machines are available here... Even I saw machine that check your sugar, BP and BMI... Station has 6 active platforms.. The view of Ram jhula is looking awesome guys... Nagpur is situated at the centre of the India.. The Zero Mile stone is here.. So, You can get trains towards Every direction of the India... I found that, only Platform No.1 is clean sincerely.. but the situation of other platforms is worse... I hope they will.. The TT's are wondering everytime, so don't travel without ticket.. There is big Tricolour outside the Station, which goosebumps you...

Wheelchair accessible, Medical assistance, Police help centre, all are available. Easy to reach. Metro, Bus, auto and other convenient transportation are available. Platforms are quite clean. Sometimes auto charges quite higher than actual. Best to book ola or uber to or from station.
