★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just about an hour's drive from Namma Bengaluru is the Nandi railway station. This quaint station sits in middle of verdant greenery and overlooks the majestic Gopinatha Betta which is overshadowed by the spectacular Nandi Betta which serves as a magnificent backdrop, taking us back to a different era altogether.
This was the first private railways enterprises approved by the princely State of Mysuru.
Nandi station has a single platform and is currently served by the push pull service between Bangalore and Chikkaballapura.
The station itself is beautiful. It's stone masonry structure with a tiled roof. It takes one back to an era where railways were the lifeline of people and they not just helped move people but cut the caste and class barriers.
The only eyesore is a new addition in the form of a shelter which is an eyesore in this beautiful environment.
Would suggest this as a must visit for everyone who likes to travel and loves history.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the most beautiful and scenic small railway station in the country at the foothills of nandi hills.it has a beautiful pre independence era structure that is the landmark for this place.lots of eucalyptus trees, few old unused building, lots of greenery, away from the main road and more importantly very less trains and very few people make it a must place to visit( station is bustling twice during the day time when train comes) visit it before it looses it charm and gets a facelift in the name of modernisation. I suggest that this railway station and it's surrounding needs to be preserved. Good location for candid photo shoots
