Nandikar in its old days staged only translation of foreign plays like Louigi Pirandello's "Six Characters" (নআট্যকারের সন্ধানে ছটি চরিত্র) , Anton Chekhov's Cherry Orchard (মঞ্জরী আমের মঞ্জরি), Bertolt Brecht's Caucasian Chalk Circle (খড়ীর গন্ডী), Arnold Wesker's The Root (ফুল ফুটুক না ফুটুক) etc. Its old glory is lost when Ajitesh Bandyopadhyay, Ajit Bandyopadhyay (remarkable for his role in Six Characters) and many other stalwarts left the group and it became a family group.
