★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The official centre of National Seeds Corporation. You can find various varieties of seasonal crops like soyabean, wheat, rice, pulses etc. The seeds are certified as it can be seen in the seal attached to the sacks.
You will find three categories of seeds:
(1) Breeder: It is the top quality seeds prepared by the researchers in the agriculture centres. It is known for its quality and good yielding capacity. This
Seed is prepared in the supervision of experienced professionals. Be in hurry, otherwise you will get empty hand as the stock end early.
(2) F1/Foundation: Now when the farmer raise crop using breeder seeds and submit the crop to the corporation, the seed is then redistributed in the next season to the farmer, this seed is known as foundation or F1 seed.
(3) Certified: The farmer raise crop and submit to the corporation. This cycle when repeat 2-3 times, the seed loses its yielding strength by approx 7-8% every year, However it is the same breed but due to some inconsistency in watering and manures, the capability decreases as the farmer cannot maintain quality control as precisely as by institutes.
The culture of exchange of same breed between NSC and farmer preserve the species from extinct and also the farmer get the reliable seed.
