Navagachia railway station is not a very good station.Because some trains do not stop here and some trains stop which are quite useless type. Some good trains do not stop here, most of the general trains stop here. The behavior of the staff here is not good either.

It's a small station with all the necessary amanities but you won’t find any luxuries in here. It just serves the purpose with some basic ingredients needed to board and deboard your train. The food is typically south indian snacks with some north indian stuff thrown in between. The cleanliness is below par you might have to think twice before relieving your bladder.

The station lies on the northern side of the Ganges and traverses the Kosi basin. In Bihar, the Kosi is widely referred to as the "Sorrow of Bihar" as it has caused widespread human suffering over the centuries through flooding and frequent changes in course. Over the last 250 years, the Kosi has shifted its course over 120 kilometres (75 mi) from east to west. In August 2008, it picked up an old channel it had abandoned over a century ago near the Nepal–India border, and caused enormous damage in a wide area covering several districts. The breach in the Kosi embankment which caused the devastating flood in 2008, was repaired in 2009 and the river has since been flowing along its original course. The floods continue and threaten even the Barauni–Katihar tracks. The entire region portrays "a bleak picture of broken houses, flattened fields and ravaged lives, signs of all the havoc the previous floods and land erosion wreaked here earlier.

i come here daily ro spend some part of my day...it is one the best silent stations of bihar....but the local people have made it their home..and that is the reason it is getting worse day by day...it must be taken care that there are only people who come to either board their ? or come to say goodbye to their family members ...

Only 3 platforms there. Small station but few Rajdhani and important trains stops here due to Bhagalpur passengers. Waiting room most of the time locked. If you want to use it please contact on Enquiry Counter and ask them to open. Inside waiting room washroom is clean enough to use. Out of the station public toilet are in bad condition.
