The famous Neelamma Vepachettu is probably one of the oldest trees in the port city located at Assam Gardens, Bangarammapeta. Sixty years ago the tree used to be in an open area sans temple. The shrine was built much later in tune with the people’s belief that there was a deity at the spot.

The temple it self is good and unique in its own way but the location is little bit troublesome. It is literally locate in the middle of the road and the traffic in busy hours can be nasty. So if on want to visit it, it is idea to do so in morning when the traffic is low. Even still it is better to be cautious about the road.

Wondered when I first listen to this name. Bit surprised to know about the popularity of this place specially the Temple. It is the Temple of "Goddess Neam tree" surrounded by a Gopuram (temple peak) as far as I heard from the locals. I like the temple and it's surroundings.
