★ ★ ★ ★ ★ They are famous for serving fresh vetki as cutlet. The items are little bit costly. Rs. 80 for one pc fish fry and Rs 160 for one plate fish finger. Try to visit the restaurant within 7pm. But bettet quality food is served with mastered pickle and onion cucumber salads in a clean plate. Rice brand refined oil may be used to prepare fresh cutlet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The N. S. Avenue, Serampur is speckled with scores of beaneries and food stalls. Some of them are newly built, and a few others are steeped in tradition and culture. Madan Restaurant incepted a century ago, is probably one of the most prominent bean wagons of them. But what makes them different from the other greasy spoon mom-and-pop stops is the quality of food. Being a Biochemist I will never indulge you in deep-fried grubs. But once in a while, a cheat diet is just fine. Madan Restaurant is famous for its fish chops. The stuffing they make is replete with fried fishes. I have tried fish chops from a host of other hash houses in Kolkata, but they were not so intense on taste buds. A fish chop at Madan's is costlier than a mutton chop. The latter comes at 30 bucks, ten shorter than fish chops! An egg chop is priced at twenty rupees. It indicates the unbelievable demand for fish chops at Madan's. We also murdered their fish fry which comes at 95 rupees only. I will always recommend you to use this shop as a takeaway, as there is a paucity of space. They have sitting arrangements but a little poky. In a nutshell, if you are around N. S. Avenue and looking for evening snacks, Madan Restaurant is probably the best of the lot!
