Executive orders for various state departments at district/division level are issued from here and land/revenue/other related grievances are being solved by the Collector itself by directly hearing from the common people.
This is a phenomenal building of utmost architectural beauty, with cool veranda around, long corridors, huge green garden in front.
It was 'RAGHUNATH COMBINED HIGH COURT & COURTS BUILDINGS SURGUJA 1936', as the frontal top head inscription on the main entrance above says.
After the merger of the princely states into sovereign Indian constitution, this too was annexed into state building and being used since then as prime office of the District Magistrate of Surguja.
