A sane and safe place in that beautiful but crazy city.
I spent a total of 3 months in India with a majority of it in Varanasi, Mong became my safe “go to” place, from travel advice to a soup that could cure any tummy upset and a family that genuinely cared almost as much as my own family at home.
Mong is a quirky little Korean inspired café serving traditional Indian, Korean and western food, like many of the other small family owned café/guest hoses in that area, however for me Mong always seemed to have more heart and soul and I’m sure many other travers who have be lucky enough to stumble upon this diamond in the rough will agree.
A little hard to find but one you do your experience of Varanasi will forever be altered for the better.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You need some patience to dine here as the G food takes a while and there is only one chef. Food is clean but not particularly flavorful or memorable. Appears to mostly cater to tourists. Came here twice as it was close to my guesthouse

The place is beautiful, and the food was very tastefull.
I Will come back again during my stay at Varanasi.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's easy to get lost reaching this place. The map might be a couple of meters off. Chicken burger was fine. They have a regular downstairs seating and then they also have the Varanasi style, upstairs sitting area, where you can smoke. It's just inside the numerous allyway, which makes it cool. But there are a lot places in the city to chill and smoke.

I have spend some years in Varanasi, and i think this place has the best ambience and the cleanest interior inside the old city Tourist area (not considering the Luxury Hotels in cantonment). Food is also good and freshly prepared. Its also very well and fair priced. I absolutely recommend it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic place, fantastic women, fantastic food. Walked the streets of Varanasi for 4 years and finally there it is: the best food I had here so far. Tasty, delicate, spicy if want. Every items wants to be discovered.
Mixing sweet and salty for breakfast never have been better. It’s so clean and comfy.
Just ask her what she think is best for you if you don’t know Korean food.
Really calm atmosphere if Varanasi is too much for you. We feel so welcome every time we are here.
And we have a train ride soon and we asked her if we could have some of her delicious sandwiches to take with us. I can’t wait to taste them.
Everything is made with love and passion.
Just go there. Go. Run!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best secret places in Varanasi!! The atmosphere of this place is just amazing. Really nice music, impeccable clean and really nice service. The food was amazing, the portions were generous and the prices are just perfect for what it is. And if you want to fall in love try the chocolate cake dessert!! Something for other world!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Seriously amazing. Best Korean food we've had in India by FAR and definitely the best international food in Varanasi. Wonderfully nice owners, and the food was just perfect. We had the bibimbap and the Korean fried chicken, and the meal was so great that we're planning to go again for dinner tonight (our first trip was last night).
