★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This temporary air strip was built in 1940s by the British government and several USA Air Force squadron were placed here during the 2nd world war(burma campaign 1944-45)...One can visit this historic debris as well as the forest(for picnic)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Orgram historical airfield is located at Orgram forest area in Burdwan district of WB. It was built during 2nd world war. It was built for U.S. Air Force deployed in Burma ?? cantonment during 1944 - 45. Today it is abandoned place. Only few dilapidated walls & runway strip remain visible among vast surrounding field. But the place bears the touch of war history. It is connected through road & you can approach from Burdwan - Bolpur road through Orgram forest .
