established in 1958 is one of the oldest libraries of the state & is named after freedom fighter Prana Krushna Padhiary. The library has over 20,000 books & 933 registered members.
Last year, the Government had announced to develop its infrastructure & subsequently the district administration & municipality held review meetings regarding the planning.
It was decided to create a separate space for poor students to help them with competitive exams including the civil services.
It was also planned to install a #telescope at the library to facilitate people to observe the solar system.
But unfortunately, even after a year, nothing has changed. Such gross negligence towards an iconic library situated at the heart of the city is a matter of great concern.
