★ ★ ★ ★ ★ પદ્મપ્રભ, અથવા પદ્મપ્રભુ, એ જૈન ધર્મ અનુસાર હાલમાં ચાલી રહેલા અવસર્પિણીકાળના ૬ઠ્ઠા તીર્થંકર છે. તેમનો જન્મ ઈક્ષ્વાકુ કુળમાં (કાશ્યપ ગોત્ર) કૌશમ્બીમાં (હાલમાં ઉત્તરપ્રદેશમાં) રાજા શ્રીધર અને રાણી સુષિમાદેવીને ઘેર થયો હતો. તેમની જન્મ તિથિ કારતક વદ બારસ છે. નવા જન્મેલ બાળની આછા ગુલાબી રંગની કમળના ફૂલ જેવી આભા હતી. આથી તેમનું નામ પદ્મપ્રભ રાખવામાં આવ્યું. તેમની ઊંચાઈ (શરીર પ્રમાણ) ૨૫૦ ધનુષ્ય (૭૫૦ મીટર) હતી. તેમનું આયુષ્ય ૩૦,૦૦,૦૦૦ પૂર્વ (211.68 Quintillion years) હતું. જ્યારે રાજકુમાર યુવાન થયા ત્યારે તેમના લગ્ન કરવામાં આવ્યા. તેમના પિતાએ સંસાર છોડી આધાત્મિક જેવન જીવવા પ્રયાણ કર્યો અને પદ્મપ્રભ રાજા બન્યા. લાંબા અને સફળ રાજ્યકારભાર પછી અમુકકાળે તેમના ત્રિકાળ જ્ઞાન અનુસર તેમણે જાણ્યું કે હવે સંસારનો ત્યાગ કરવાનો સમય આવ્યો છે અને તેમણે અન્ય 1000 રાજકુમારો સાથે સંયમ અંગીકાર કર્યો. તેમણે તપસ્વી તરીકે ૧૩ પૂર્વ વર્ષ વિતાવ્યા હતા અને ૬ મહિના ધ્યાન અને આધ્યાત્મિક અભ્યાસમાં તરીકે વિતાવ્યા હતા. છમહિના ની ઉગ્ર તપસ્યા કર્યા પછી ચૈત્ર સુદ પુનમના દિવસે વડના વૃક્ષ નીચે તેમણે કેવળજ્ઞાન પ્રાપ્ત થયું. તેમના અનુયાયી ઓ માં સાધુ- ૩૩૦,૦૦૦ અને સાધ્વી - રતિ આદિ ૪૨૦૦૦૦ શ્રાવક - ૨૭૬૦૦૦ અને શ્રાવિકા ૫૦૫૦૦૦ હતા.
લોકોમાં સાચા ધર્મનો પ્રસાર કરી તેઓ સમ્મેત શિખર આવ્યા. માગસર વદ અગિયારસના દિવસે તેમના ૩૦૮ સાધુઓ સાથે સમ્મેત શિખર પરથી મોક્ષમાં ગયા
 Padmaprabha, or Padmaprabhu, is the 6th Tirthankar of the present Avasarpini period according to Jainism. He was born in Ikshvaku clan (Kashyap Gotra) in Kaushambi (now in Uttar Pradesh) home to King Sridhar and Queen Sushimadevi. His date of birth is Kartak Vad Baras. The newborn baby had a pale pink lotus-like aura. Hence he was named Padmaprabha. His height (body proportions) was 20 bows (30 meters). His lifespan was 30,000,000 years ago (211.68 Quintillion years). They were married when the prince was young. His father left the world to live a spiritual life and became Padmaprabha Raja. Sometime after a long and successful reign, following his Trikala knowledge, he realized that now was the time to renounce the world and he adopted restraint with 1000 other princes. He spent 18 pre-years as an ascetic and spent 6 months in meditation and spiritual study. After six months of intense penance, on the day of Chaitra Sud Punam, he attained pure knowledge under the Vadna tree. Among his followers were Sadhu-60,000 and Sadhvi-Rati Adi 30,000 Shravaks-2000 and Shravikas-206,000.
By spreading the true religion among the people, they came to the summit. On the day of Magsar Vad Agiyaras, he went to Moksha from Sammet Shikhar with his 205 monks.
