About Palimpsest Publishing House
Palimpsest entered the Indian publishing scene in 2012 promising to do things differently. It took note of the tectonic shifts in culture, inside man’s life and also in writing brought about by the relentless waves of technology. The new reading milieu of the young urbanite, we knew, had more expectations from us.
Within the publishing world silos were being razed, setting the field for an exciting game. We responded knowing things would never be the same again. Contemporary, with the wind, and still – books for us meant runes of ‘an ancient palimpsest on which layer upon layer of thought and reverie had been inscribed, and yet no succeeding layers had completely hidden what had been written previously.’ So we were – pulled by the future, the past remaining our guiding beacon.
