Bir is a village located in the west of Joginder Nagar Valley in the state of Himachal Pradesh in northern India. Mostly referred as "Paragliding Capital of India", Bir is also a noted centre for ecotourism, spiritual studies and meditation. Bir is also home to a Tibetan refugee settlement with several Buddhist monasteries and a large stupa. While Billing is the takeoff site for paragliding and Bir for landing; collectively it is known "Bir Billing".

Travel by car, trek and then glide all together for the amazing view and peace is WORTH IT.
Be cautious of the price as it varies a lot. Go with a certified pilot only and talk about all hidden charges in advance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i cannot describe the experience which was the second in world and Asia's first highest paragliding spot. Bir Billing roads are a bit trecherous in July because of the rain(monsoon season) and the best time is september to february. Bir Billing experience is a one of the best adventures experience. It looks difficult and dangerous at first time and for beginners. and I can fly bir billing and really feel osumm.. and welcome friends best for solo and couples . Thanks Team Adventurenhimalaya

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was once in a lifetime experience. Lending zone landscape was awesome. Fly was approx 22min. Book your ride on the spot it will be cheaper. Normally charges are 2k including video recording. But it totally depends on your bargaining skills. I paid even less then 1600-/RS

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ World's second highest paragliding take of point. One can feel the proper feel of wind as if you are sitting outside a plane because the height is as much as a plane is flying during its landing time...
I have added pics of landing site and also adding two pics of take off point as that point is too crowded and you do not have time to click pics so I took these pics early in the morning at 7 AM.

Bir billing paragliding is probably the primary reason of tourist attraction.
Very smooth service by agency, they pick you up to take off site, Charges INR 3K, Go pro or equivalent camera recording is included, very nice friendly & well behaved pilots.
On landing site, there are very nice photographers, they take very minimal charges & give you softcopies of your landing snaps either to your phone or any other external media.
On take off point, few local vendors have small food points while at landing site there are very top rated famous cafes with a walk of 5 mins.
Overall it was worth plauditory to be there, lovely place, so much adventures, nice climate, food & people too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bir Billing is the paragliding capital of paragliding where I visited last month. So you can see a lot here like Paragliding, Camping, Trekking, Waterfall, Bugee Jumps, Monasteries etc., the weather here is very nice, the sunset of the night sinks with a lot of views. Our family went paragalding last month and had a great time and all the trainers are experienced and certified, they will guide you through the performance as well as all the safety details, I Will definitely recommend this Bir Billing Paragliding place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bir is one of the top-notch place for paragliding in India. Approximately we need to travel 1 hour to reach the take-off point. Really it looks very much scary and there is also a chance you would fall while taking off, but once you take off perfectly take my words it would be one of the best adventure experiences in your life. Approx time of the fly will be 20-25 min max and you will be provided GoPro by the pilot to have the experience recorded and no mobile phones or self-brought cameras will be allowed during the fly.
The best time to visit is from October to February and nowadays they are charging 3k per head it is non-negotiable which includes the travel cost and GoPro charges, but you need to pay extra for the photos and videos.
Overall, the experience was very good, and my recommendation would be 5/5.

One can reach Bir by Rail, Road and Airways. Nearest Airport is Kangra Airport. Nearest Railway station in Joginder Nagar which is a narrow gauge section. Bir Billing is well connected by roads.
Best time is from October to December and March to May. If you are an adventure enthusiast then must add this place in your bucket list.
