β β β β β Satya Niketan - An area well known for the South campus of Delhi University is also home to a large number of eateries and is taking the level higher and higher everyday with something new and refreshing opening up in this area every fortnight. Acting as a home away from home for all the college and students residing as PGs, the area has everything on offer right from a pin to a Plane. Owing to the large distance though, its cafes remained elusive to those residing in opposite part of Delhi. However, with the advent of metro in the form of newly launched pink line, people residing in North, North-west Delhi can now easily reach here within half hour thus making it accessible for all now.
I have been to satya niketan quite a number of times and have always found the cafes here an interesting mix as they are of all types ranging from the cheapest ones to the costlier ones, each one serving something unique that slightly differentiates them from one another. Besides they have every styles of food, shakes, drinks and sheeshas on offer here to satisfy the tastebuds of any type of foodie. The area offers a huge array of options to choose from depending on the type of cuisines you are interested in alongwith the depth of your pocket. With the social media buzzing up with the appraisals of this place, it was the turn of the pirates of campus to get ticked off the list.
I was here on a Sunday afternoon and was amazed to see the place packed to the capacity making me realize that the place was a favourite among college students of this area for their birthday celebrations and parties of other sorts. Majority of the tables were having parties going on on the day I visited with the remaining 1-2 tables havng a group of students just hanging out and chilling over sheesha and shakes. With sofas and table chair arrangement the place can easily accommodate around 30-40 people in one go and soon after us settling down our order of food and drinks started flowing in from the kitchen to the tables. During our visit we got our hands onto some veg momos, a north indian platter and some shakes alongwith a kachi Kerry and a brain freezer sheesha. The momos were big in size compared to what we are used to eating at other places and had judicious filling in them. The accompanying red chilli sauce was just wow. The platter had portions of tandoori paneer, mushrooms, broccoli and all the items on it were good to taste. Followed these up with the Naanza which is a trending version of pizza now a days. Owing to the replacement of the thick maida base with the thin naan base it leads to being more flavorful while being easy on the stomach.
It turned out to be a real Sunday Funday meeting old friends after a long long time. So if you are also looking for a place to hangout with your small group, without spending too much all the while experiencing some really good dishes then do pay a visit to this place.

β β β β β ItΒ is a Happy Place! Warm and fragrantβ a cosy space made huge by the profusion of pirate paraphernalia on display. On offer is food that is both distinctly home cooked food restaurant style and has that instant, soothing familiarity of comfort food.
Burgers and Pasta to Sandwiches, wraps etc., the food is welcoming and unpretentious, exactly like the ambience.
The chicken Stroganoff and fried ice-cream, for example, are dishes you wonβt find on many menus today.
The Tandoori Momos and Seekh kebabs are hugely popular appetizers.
The place owes much of its popularity, lines stretching out the door, to its location opposite the Venkateshwar College. That, and Keema Pao for INR 150, Chicken Tikka Wrap for INR 100, Pirates Special Pizza for INR 140 etc. End on a sweet note with the Waffle Sundae.
Insider Tips,
There are Seeshas on offer too and the milk based ones are hot sellers
Soy Chap Masala can give any non-vegetarian dish run for its money
The Desi style pizzas are worth a try
