Pisanhari ki Madiya is a well-known pilgrimage for the Digambar Jain sect. This Jain temple is situated close to the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Medical College. This 500-year-old temple is one of the most visited places in Jabalpur and is known for its architecture and beauty. There is a legend that says that this temple was built by a poor woman after she heard the voice of a holy Jain monk. The monk's magical words gave her the inspiration to go ahead and built this massive structure. There are stones in the temple that were laid down by this lady and these stones are still unmoved and kept at the same place to showcase her unmatched devotion and determination. In order to pay her a befitting tribute, this temple was named Pisanhari ki Madiya that can be translated to the woman preparing wheat flour on hand-operated stone mill. With beautiful surroundings at its vicinity, this Jain temple in Jabalpur is visited by hundreds every year.

Amazing religious places and best place for the nature lovers. This place truely defines the rich history of Jainism. There are 13 different temples in step wise manner and some more temples in the plain. Visitors can stay here in the Dharamshala. You can also take a view of whole city from the top. Best timing to visit in the early morning or in the evening.

There are many temples at this place. The oldest temple is located high on the hill. You are supposed to remove your footwears down and then you have to go through the stairs .If you are visiting the temple in summers I would suggest you to go early in the morning or late in the evening because you have to visit the temple barefoot and the floor becomes too hot to walk on . It's really large and it has large number of temples inside it .If you are coming to Jabalpur it's a must visit site. One more thing ,you can have a look of whole Jabalpur city from the top of the city. Photography was prohibited inside the temple that's why I couldn't click many pictures.
