भाटापारा ताहुलदार श्री जगत साव का क्षेत्र था उन्हे यह ताहुलदारी प्रभुजी भोसले से सन 1827 में 44 ग्राम के साथ प्राप्त हुई थी उस समय इसके पुर्वी छोर मे अवरेठी, और पश्चिम मे हथनी नाम की छोटी छोटी बस्तीया थी जहा केवल मजदुर ही रहते थे। बीच में भाग-बंजर मैदान था धीरे धीरे कुछ लोग बसने लगे परिणामस्वरूप वहा से 12 किलोमीटर पुर्व ग्राम धुर्राबांधा थाना का आउट पोस्ट था। दीवान कल्याणसिंह ने इसे भाटापारा का नाम दिया। सन 1818 के ताहुलदार की अपनी पुलिस थी जो बाद में साहब के प्रस्ताव अनुसार शासकिय पुलिस बनी। वर्ष 1910 में 5.09 एकड भूमि शासन द्वारा प्रदान करने पर थाना एवं आवास गृह का निर्माण कराया गया । प्रारंभ में 144 ग्राम थे सन 1910 में बलौदाबाजार से जुडा वर्ष 1956 मे नेवरा थाना बनने के बाद 10 ग्राम स्थानांतरित किये बाद में 12 ग्राम और कट जाने पर वर्तमान में 124 ग्राम है। प्रारंभ में कुछ मुस्लिम जमात आकर बसे और चूडी बेचने का व्यापार करने लगे इन्होने 02 मस्जिदे बनाई फिर कच्छ और गुजराती आकर नमक और चावल का व्यापार किये, वर्ष 1944 में सिंधी जाति के बहुत से परिवार आकर यहां बस गये और किराना सामान की मिले लगाई। माता देवालय में बसे सन 1900 में नागपूर कलकत्ता लाईन बन जाने से यहां के व्यापारियों की उन्नति हुई। पानी की पुर्ति के लिए दीवान श्री कल्याण सिंह ने कल्याण सागर सन 1896 मे बनवाया, सन 1906 में डाक बंगला, सन 1908 में गंज मंडी, 1909 मे हाई स्कुल व अस्पताल, सन 1942 में सरकारी गोदाम, सन 1954 में नगर पालिका, सन 1962 में विकासखण्ड, सन 1966 कालेज की स्थापना, तथा 20.12.1955 में नगर में विघुत व्यवस्था की गई। दिनांक 01.04.1963 से थाना में विघुत व्यवस्था है वर्ष 1938 में रामायण मण्डल का कार्य चालु किया गया और प्रतिवर्ष भादो कृष्ण पक्ष से कृष्ण जन्माष्टमी तक अखंड रामनाम सप्ताह मनाया जाता है और नवमी को विशाल जूलुस निकाला जाता है वर्ष 1930 में राष्ट्रपिता महात्मा गांधी का आगमन हुआ था। भाटापारा शहर का व्यापारिक महत्व बढने से नगर की जनसंख्या शीघ्रता से बढने लगी। वर्ष 1988 में थाना भाटापारा ग्रामीण प्रारंभ हुआ। जिनमे नगरपालिका भाटापारा सीमा से बाहर का सपूंर्ण 119 ग्राम सम्मिलित किया गया तथा नगरपालिका सीमा का क्षेत्राधिकार को थाना भाटापारा शहर का क्षेत्राधिकार दिया गया. source- balodabazarpolice.in

Kalyan Sagar was built in 1896 by Diwan Mr. Kalyan Sagar for water supply, Dak Bungalow in 1906, Ganj Mandi in 1908, High School and Hospital in 1909, Government Warehouse in 1942, Municipality in 1954, 1962 Development block in 1966, college was established in 1966, and in 20.12.1955, a disastrous arrangement was made in the city. From 01.04.1963, there is a disastrous arrangement in the police station in the year 1938. The work of the Ramayana Circle was started and every year from Bhado Krishna Paksha to Krishna Janmashtami, the unbroken Ramnama week is celebrated and the huge procession is taken out to the Navami in the year 1930.
