★ ★ ★ ★ ★ there is a guy who asks for money after the submission of the application , apart from that rest of the work done was pleasant and expected of a typical Indian Govt office. I applied for my parents Passport in the month of Jan and they got them in april -may.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Located in isolated place where there is no mobile network, with zero maintenance, the staffs are very rude and ignorant. And the biggest issue is with the link as maximum time it is not available for the whole day. if you are in urgent need of passport then its better to find a alternative place for documentation rather then wasting your day here. As there are only limited chances for the verification so it would be better to try somewhere else then taking risk here

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Be prepared for long waiting times as a lot of people get their work done here. Also put on easy-to-remove footwear as shoes are not allowed inside. Overall the waiting area is cool and comfy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had scheduled an appointment on 6.12.21 at passport seva kendra, barrackpore head post office. They said the link is down and normally remains like this and to reschedule it somewhere else. NEVER EVER SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT HERE.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had my appointment around 2:15 pm, when I went there on my allotted timing I saw that still people from morning time slots are going in. After 4pm the link was down because they wanted to wrap it up quickly and go home. I had to wait 5hours still my work was not done. Staff behavior is horrific. Horrible experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is passport verification office for Barrackpore region...All works are done systematically and on proper time.The process is smooth..No hazads..Staffs are co-operative.This office is just beside Barrackpore main Post-office.Easily you can find this place on Google map.All rules and which documents are needed written on notice board properly..For Barrackpore region people this Passport verification center is the best. Don't get confused by the other reviews,this center is really good..In 1 hour my verification was done..
I am sharing my experience of December,2021.
This office opens at 10a.m.
You have to book the appointment through online and after payment your appointment is confirmed.Try to reach 30 mins before of your appointment time..Just a remainder-prepare all your documents..Aadhar,Voter, Marksheet of 10th, graduation is must..If you forget any of the important documents your appointment and money both are gone..
In seva-kendra they work in disiplined way..You will find a notice on the wall what documents you need for verification and check wheather if you have all of them or not.. That's why go earlier.Then sequentially as your appointment time your name will be called and you will ho to the officer's room.Your original documents will be checked and then your photo will be taken at that center,and your 10 fingerprints will be scanned...After that you will be given a copy of your application and keep it carefully.Your verification is done..
Now you have to wait for 7-12 days for police verification..You will receive sms/email..
That's it...Easy and systematic process.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What I am going to talk about here is a detailed first hand review based on my experience on 22/02/2022.
The location of this PSK is popularly known as post office ground by the schoolkids of Barrackpore. You can take a bus/auto/toto from Barrackpore chiriamore or railway station and it should take approx 10 mins to get here. Since it is placed in the middle of a playground, congestion isn't an issue, although I would like to mention that the Passport office's waiting space is pretty small with only a limited amount of seats.
Speaking of counters, technically there aren't any. Two persons are assigned to take photographs, biometrics and verify the documents, hence, the pace is very low. Time management is another prominent issue and adding to that the internet connection is slower than usual. Do not book an appointment here in the hope of getting your work done quicker than usual, because I guarantee you that if you are alotted a slot for 2:00pm, your turn will come around 5 in the evening. They take around 50-60 appointments per day, a count served by criminally understaffed office.
Neither the candidate's time is valued here nor the staffs' rights. A powerplay of higher authorities getting their work done with as less underpaid staffs as possible. Regardless of the daily harassments they face, the staffs carry on with your verification by extending their office timings by two hours every day. Candidates appointed to be verified at 11 in the morning and leaving the office at 6 in the evening is as common as a gay saying "slay"!
If you are lucky to get an appointment by 11, the delay will be limited to 1 hour else pack your lunch and bunch and plan your stay for a day. :P
