The Corporation is under the Administrative Control of the Department of Handloom, Textiles & Sericulture, Government of Assam. The Corporation through its chain of retail outlets is marketing the traditional Handloom, Handicrafts, Brass & Bell metal and other allied products produced by the weavers and artisans in the rural & urban areas of the State. The Corporation has at present 7-nos of sales units in the name of "Pragjyotika" Assam Emporium, at Guwahati, Sivasagar, Silchar, Tezpur, New Delhi and two in Kolkata. The Corporation has a Central Store at Head Office Complex.

They r genuin and those who complain about a high price but all local products from Assam being made available in Delhi includes so much of transportation cost! The sales woman was so homely. Highly recommended if want to buy Asomiya things.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wanted to buy bamboo / grass products including furniture. Staff is least interested in showing items. One hour before shop has to close they had shut half the areas and just didn't want to open to show more items. Come later they said. It's quite ridiculous and sad to see state emporia being run so shoddily. Some of the items were very nice but the attitude of the staff ensured we left without buying anything.
