★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a historic monument and one of the few remaining gates of Panipat walled city. Even today all types of traffic passes through this gate day & night. There was a time till 60s when this was an outpost of Panipat on its northern side. There were mainly agricultural fields beyond it barring a few old monuments such as Devi Mandir of Maratha vintage, Lodhi Tomb dating back to 1526 AD and Tehsil Camp with few British era buildings and which was a temporary camping site of refugees from west Pakistan in 1947.
