Narakasura, it is told, performed his deep penances here for many years. After killing Narakasura on the previous day of Deepavali called Naraka Chaturdasi, Lord Krishna feared of Brahmahatya Dosha. Then He brought plants of "Patalee Vruksha" from Heaven(Swarga) and planted near this temple. Still we can see those Trees here around Pruthweeswara Swamy Temple. Here Goddess Diety is Tripurasundari. Very powerful place especially for those who wish to practice Spiritual courses.

Lot of open place in front of temple. It is said that the Shivalinga is Prudhvi linga (made of local soil) and consecrated on a height. But, now, due to geological disturb-ances and may be due to floods, the Prudhwi linga is now at par with surroundings. Ancient temple - period Dwaparayuga; Name of the village: Lord Srikrishna, along with Satyabhama, killed, (it is detailed in Krishna nadi (river) Mahatmyam (Greatness of River Krishna), Narakasura here. Hence, this place is called, "Narakottaraka kshetram" and later, Narakotturu, Nadakaduru, and still later settled as "Nadakuduru".

Temple visiting timings are limited. But you can do darsanam at any time from main door. Overall temple located in wonderful place.
