★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Established under the Maharashtra State Khadi & Village Industries Board, the Handmade Paper Institute is one of a kind. Renowned city-based chemical scientist K. B. Joshi introduced his innovation of making paper from waste to Gandhiji. The latter advised the former to setup a unit for the same which was then inaugurated by Jawaharlal Nehru on 1st August 1940. Since then, the institute is standing tall in Pune. Located besides the Agricultural College, the campus consists of two shops and the paper processing plant along with the offices. The plant contains heavy machinery which I believe are pretty old. The institute provides various short term and long term courses for people who want to learn the art of making handmade paper and start their own business. One of the shops sells Khadi products whereas the other contains handmade paper products manufactured in the institute itself. It's a wonderful place to be if you're an art enthusiast. Make sure you visit this place!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a jewel, a diamond no doubt. Not only will you get tons of stuff, handmade papers if various textures, thicknesses abs types, but you'll get so many kinds of gift articles as well. The interior and external design of the institute or the workshop area is too good. I can longer here for so much time, touching the various products, looking around. All the products are manufactured here so it's a fantastic place to book bulk orders. Check out their paper bags as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was a very enriching find for me. They make all kinds of Handmade paper & Paper products. This is an experience that can be only done by visiting the store. They have sort of a museum & display space as well. Once will find all sorts of paper products that we use in daily life as well as rich decorative papers for decoration & display. This falls under Maharashtra state Khadi & cottage industries & would encourage more people to check it out & buy. Even the roof sheath inside the shop is made out of paper!
