★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Civil Secretariat building was designed by Architect & planner Le Corbusier . In the the year 1953. This is well-designed Building. Perhaps this was the first building having Lifts in it.upto . From 1.11.1966 it was devided into two parts. One for Haryana other for Punjab. Because there was only one capitol it was devided for few years the hope that one more new capitol city will be created for one if the state. 51 years have elapsed but matter had not bern settled. Accommodation in this building is inadequate. 12 Prime Ministers worked in India. But matter remained unsolved. The city is directly the controll of Central Government. The matter is pending for the last 51 years. It could have been solved by now. Building is same but names are two. Name of building should be one though two Offices. Two more buildings have been constructed one by Punjab & one by Haryana. The city is at the corner for both states.Public has to come from long distance and to go long distance in the evening . If some one look into the problems faced by Public. Due to this arrangement . Officers come here on deputation from Haryana& punjab. Large number of Group A & B Posts are created,. though there is ban on creation. There are no recruitment Rules & Recruiting Authority. Officers coming on deputation implement their own agenda.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Secretariat Building is a Le Corbusier-designed government building built in 1953, located inside the Chandigarh Capitol Complex which comprises three buildings and three monuments — Secretariat building, Legislative Assembly building and High Court building, Open Hand Monument, Geometric Hill and Tower of Shadows. In July 2016, the building and several other works by Le Corbusier were inscribed as UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a Le Corbusier designed building which was built in 1953. It is the part of Heritage Capitol Complex. This is generally called as Punjab’s Main Secretariat and there is a Mini-Secretariat as well in Sector 9.
There is only Pass entry in this building. You can make a Pass from the back side of this building. For this you’ll need a valid ID and reason to enter. Mobile phones are not permitted inside this building for general public. This place has a wheelchair entrance as well.
