★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Puratan Bazaar is a small market area near the Ghugiya Bhuban Mohini School. It has several shops and has been growing rapidly since I started living here. It has a variety of shops which include xerox, dry cleaning, cycle repairing, saloons, welding, several easy recharge shops, several sweet shops, several fast food resturants, a construction materials supply retailer, a cyber cafe with printing and xerox facilities and more. Several tea stalls are present here which act as places of gathering in the evening. Also an ATM is present for convenience of getting money. A club named Ganesh Janani is also present in the locality. Every year the club hosts a fare on the occasion of Ganesh Janani Puja (Mother of Lord Ganesha) here which draws a lot of population from nearby places. This puja occurs during the bengali calendar month of Falgun (near end of March) and its more than 300 years old! Several competitions and events are also held during this festival.
Its a nice place to visit especially during the festivals.
