I wonder who thought about pairing a dry kochuri with dry alu chenchki. The taste of the alu chenchki is very good, as is the kochuri, but these two together are very hard to swallow without sipping water with every bite.

One of my recommended sweet shop which provides good quality sweets in best price. Along with one can find delicious kochuri, dal /torkari even the oil used not super fine quality. Behaviour of stuff is also good.

One of the oldest sweet shop in Kolkata, started functioning from 1852. It is probably the first Bengali sweet shop to introduce dry fruits like cashew and pista in sweets. Must try: korai suti kachori and cholar daal, lady keni, pantua (similar to gulab jamun), roshogolla

One of the oldest and widely reputed sweetmeat sellers. There's quite a variety of sweets here which are priced fairly I must say. I had kochuri here which putiram is really famous for, the kochuris really tasted delicious served with cholar dal instead or torkari. Would've really appreciated if the pur was a bit more in the kochuris. Also, got 250 grams mishti doi which I got for 60 bucks...tasted awesome....they don't use batasha in it which is my it's white in colour! Do give a try!?

This shop is more than 150 years old. They have a wide range of bengali sweets and the quality they serve is excellent ❀️. Radhaballavi-cholar dal and misti doi are my absolute favourite from this place . Surely a must visit place!

It is an old and famous shop in college street. Went there on recommendation from someone about its special khasta kachori, but couldn't resist myself and ended up trying its Radhavallabhi, singada(small size samosa) and many sweets including nolen gur sandesh, juicy gulab jamun, sandesh, ras malai and bonde. And it was a very soulful experience for my taste buds.

Putiram is one sweet shop of Kolkata that is also famous for its salty and tangy snacks, just as it is for sweets. For generations it has tickled the taste buds of sweet loving Bengalis with their salty preparations. From Dalpuri, chholar daal to kochuri, this shop is visited daily by hundreds of college students and those who work in and around College Street. Putiram is almost synonymous to Raj Bhog that in Bengali means royal meal. Kolkata has a special bond with its piping hot kochuris and rajbhogs. It is almost like a foodie’s love story enacted on breakfast plates every Sunday. Or falling in love with your college mate over a plate of rajbhog and dalpuri at the 150-year-old iconic Putiram Sweets while walking down the historic College Street.
