★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Once it was the largest Railway Junction of Narrow Gauge. After Gauge Conversion, it is now a Broad Gauge Railway Junction. The conversion process is in progress. At present, trains are running between Nainpur and Jabalpur and Nainpur and Chiraidongri (Mandla). Nainpur to Lamta (Balaghat) track is about to open in a short time. After completion of the Gauge Conversion, Jabalpur - Nainpur - Gondia track will shorten the journey towards Southern India.

In history Nainpur station is biggest Narrow Gauge (2 ft 6 in (762 mm) line) station. It was the junction point of Jabalpur 110 km to its north, Balaghat 76 km to its south, Mandla 50 km to its east and Chhindwara 150 km to its west. It is connected to Nagpur via Chhindwara and Gondia. It was Asia's largest Narrow Gauge Railway Junction before the recent Gauge Conversion Project.

Its a good station neat and clean. Bus stand is near and Railway Narrow gauge Museum is also near and walking distance.
