Rainforest House - Jonk

4.1/5 β˜… based on 8 reviews

A homely retreat house on  the bank of Ganga, surrounded by mountains, Rainforest house is a space where people can come to relax , re-juvenate,  meditate, paint, read, write, trek around or  simply to practise the art of doing nothing......
A lovely place to spend time sitting next to Ganga, have a swim or  for the more adventurous ones, jump from the famous  jumping rock!

It is a great place for yoga and spiritual retreats to be held.

Fake Description is there on internet. There is no wifi, no beach as mentioned in almost all travelling website. When i asked about wifi, the manager asked me to use my own mobile data. The trekking is also not safe during rainy season. I booked for two nights and soon after reaching there I realised my mistake and left the place on the same day. I requested owner to refund atleast 50% but he refused. I would not recommend anyone to book this place.

Loved staying here for 8 days. Quiet, peaceful, GREEN property, with a beautiful brook and little waterfall next to the rooms. Reading hammock next to the stream and Reader's Rock on the riverside. Charming little surprise Buddha statues and lots of lovely green moss. Even a few mushrooms! Wifi is good, phone network is also good enough for online classes and calls. Super hot water with great pressure. Great food, great service, there if you need it but unobtrusive. Also went out of their way to solve some problems we had on Day 1, and it was smooth sailing after. The entry path is steep and rocky, but my 60+ parents were going up and down with relative ease after the first few times. Special shout-out to Manish Ji for going above and beyond every day! Steve and family are lucky + goals, for living here permanently.

Overpriced, you can get a luxury property in these prices. The place is beautifully designed and staff is warm but the services are not at par with prices. The food is also expensive, everything for lunch n dinner starting from 400/- INR.

Old, rustic, village style home with a verandah in between with a big mango tree and a swing over it. Experience the village styled life there. The Ganges is a stone throw away from the home. Steve, Manish and the team work tirelessly (always with a smile)to give you a wonderful time and the food, the heavenly food is freshly prepared from the locally procured items organically grown. The house food prepared is so colorful that it cannot be resisted. Definitely I am coming back here sooner than later. Also a whole floor is dedicated to yoga hall where you can practice at your own will and the room has a harmonium, a guitar and a table tennis table to keep you engaged. Moreover to describe this place it will be like an essay writing.. ?. So better is book and experience a mesmerising stay. (The river rafting Cliff Jump and maggi halt is where the walking path from the home leads you to within 50 mtrs).

It is a beautiful cozy place. You need to trek for the house atleast 200 meters but the slope down here when I was here was very high. So avoid people who can't climb or trekking. Else rooms has view of Ganga maa and neer fall is also passing just besides this. 1) service is very good 2) food is also very good. 3) you get private route to the river .
