About The College
Rajiv Gandhi Government Degree College, popularly known as Kotshera, located in Chaura Maidan, Shimla came into existence in the year 1984. The campus is situated near the picturesque and serene Inverarm Hill, one of the seven hills in the city. The college is ensconced amidst a pristine natural environment offering a perfect academic setting for the students. The college has made immense progress and grown in stature all through its glorious journey. At present, the college campus spreads over wide area having strength of 3000 students. It is transforming into a leading co-educational institution of the state offering undergraduate courses in all three streams viz. Humanities, Sciences and Commerce.

(pass out-2019)...... college infrastructure is good as compare to other govt.degree colleges but the only drawback is that it is far enough from main road (approx.400 mtrs) nd one may find it difficult to reach there especially the unfit person who is not very fond of walking.....if u Own a car, that's perfect....
2. And the another imp.thing which every study institute must have is "playground"... which is a biggest lack due to area constraints... only a cricket net practice pitch and volleyball field is there...and for indoor sports there is a multi-purpose hall where u can play badminton...kabbaddi and chess games etc....
3.in winters...u may experience snowfall there
4. Rest depends upon the staff quality... good staff having good teachers is a blessing.. otherwise it's up to u❤️
