Very peaceful and relaxing place for a weekend getaway, about 40km from Bangalore. The 300 or so steps are well maintained and easy to climb, with shade throughout. The view from the top is also great, looking down into the surrounding rocky region littered with stone hills.

Had gone for a trek. The ascent is mostly stairs all the way and was quite crowded. Not much to see unless going for the temple. The stairs beyond the temple are steep, so wear good footwear.

After the trek to the top through a almost 90° trek, the view was worth it. Takes only around an hour trek to the top. The trek level is moderate. Not very difficult. Good to go with friends and enjoy some time away from the city. It opens only around 9 and then 1 hour to this view point.

Unknown to many, this is a beautiful Rocky hill spot for family outing. With 400 steps to climb, it may be tough for elderly! So discuss with them before taking them here. Close to Sholay film shooting area, this hill reminds a lot of the movie. Amazing views on the topmost hill point which has an extremely steep stairs. Small but beautiful and cosy, Sri Pattabhirama temple and Rameshwara temples are lovely places to meditate. Temple also has Anna dasoha ( lunch prasada ) on holidays and weekends. Though the place is the only vulture sanctuary of South India, we couldn't spot any vultures there! They charge around 25 rupees per head for the same reason, at the entrance. Apparently the legendary Jatayu vulture of the Ramayana fame hailed from this place. The hill of Saptarshi is a beauty and mysterious because of the name itself, difficulty to climb and also the presence of wild animals. Overall, it was a great experience. Please carry plenty of water and fruits. And of course, please don't litter because it's a natural beauty, this place.

It’s a beautiful place with superb views. The temple seems to be famous with lots of devotees coming to it. There are 400 steps up to the temple and a trail beyond that to the view point. The last portion of the trail with a steep climb was quite thrilling. And large open space at the top is all the more better. But beware of monkeys on the way, especially if you decide to have food they might trouble you.
