β β β β β Ramakrishna math, Barasat is one of the branch center of RAMAKRISHNA MATH & RAMAKRISHNA MISSION, Belur and the holly birth place of SRIMATH SWAMI SHIBANANDAJI MAHARAJ also known as MAHAPURUSH MAHARAJ, who is one of the direct disciple of SRI RAMAKRISHNA DEV and 2nd. president of Ramakrishna Order. This holly place is very popular among the devotees of Ramakrishna followers. Everyday here performed puja- voga and other rituals as per guide line. There is a charitable dispensery for the needy persons and along with other celebration here offer Sri Sri Durga puja with distribution of PROSADAM to all devotees.

β β β β β Ramakrishna Math, Barasat is situated on NH 35 at Shivananda Palli, Barasat. It is on the birthplace of Swami Shivananda alias Mahapurush Maharaj, the second President of the Ramakrishna order. Previously an "Ashram", this place was upgraded to a branch of Ramakrishna Math and Mission of Belur, district Howrah, West Bengal in 1985.
The main entrance is directly from the adjacent highway (NH 35). Just inside, one is greeted by a calmness and a soothing spiritual atmosphere. The main temple housing the idol of Shri Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa Deva is at the alter.
Besides the main temple, there is a library, charitable dispensary serving both Allopathic and Homeopathic medicines, a guest house, Nivedita Smriti Bhawan and the residence of the inmates (sadhus).
The place is a nice one to visit.
