You get some amazing views from here. This is probably the easiest accessible fort. Make sure to walk around the wall to enjoy panoramic views.

Small fort, not much of a climb. There is not much of a climb, there is a devi temple at the top. Nothing much for the tourists, you could avoid also if there is not much time in hands.

Offers an amazing view of Ratnagiri and the Arabian seashore. Remains of the fort have been saved and kept in shape by archeological dept. Timings are timid, you cannot see sunset from the fort. The way towards fort is quiet risky and difficult to drive; four wheeler cannot go till the fort. One has to walk or go on a scooter/bike. But the journey is worth the destination. You can also visit the lighthouse nearby.

At a distance of 4 km from Ratnagiri Bus Stand, Ratnadurg Fort is a historical fort situated on the shores of the Arabian Sea in Ratnagiri. It is one of the popular forts in Maharashtra, and among the top Ratnagiri places to visit. As the fort is surrounded by sea from three sides and the light house on the fourth side the scene looks very picturesque. The Ratnadurga fort is hardly at a height of 100 meters from its base, is very easy to climb and leads directly to the Goddess Bhagawati temple. You can travel in your vehicle to the temple and from there you have to climb some steps to reach the main entrance of the temple. The area of the temple of Bhagawati is the largest area on the fort, and every day the temple is open from 8 am to 6 pm. There is an old abandoned jetty on the left side and a huge cliff on the other side. Viewing the Sunset from this fort is a major attraction for tourists. Another wonderful attraction in the fort is the marvelous lighthouse. The lighthouse presents a beautiful view of the Arabian Sea at the time of sunset. The best time to visit this fort is during the monsoons. Lush greenery along with the blue sea creates a mesmerizing view.

One of the best attraction points near Ratnagiri. Fort does not have too many stairs hence easily accessible. Make sure to carry your own vehicle. Auto drivers asking for 100 rs from city or towards city which is all the way higher. Some of very spectacular views of the sea can be seen from fort. Parking is available at entrance. Fort is too much big but you can view some portion at a glance. Take a round around first footpath. You will be amazed. Some Jetty's can be seen from fort. Also thereby one or two shops for snacks and colddrink at entrance. One can visit in morning for best experience. Fort closes in evening at say 7 pm. If you want to feel real taste of nature you should visit.

Its a nicely made fort in Ratnagiri. There is Bhagwati Temple on the fort. I did not see much inside the fort, but a walk on the fort wall was quite an experience. On almost 3 sides you will see open sea and amazing sky. Lot of opportunities to click some amazing shots if you are a shutterbug. We ended up walking the entire wall and spent some good 45 minutes doing so. Otherwise its a 20 odd minutes destination.

Wonderful place. This place has a great history. Fort was used to keep an eye enemies coming from sea route. This fort has multiple watch points from where you can enjoy sea infinitely. Cleanliness: 2/5 Tourist attraction: 2/5 Views from fort: 5/5 Fort structure: 4/5 Road to reach the fort is not maintained. Looks like tourism is not being promoted in Ratnagiri.
