Durga Puja is the primary festival for Bengalis across the country. It is celebrated to honour Goddess Durga. Legend has it that Goddess Durga was the one to take on Mahishasura, the buffalo demon when all the male Gods gave up on him. Whether you're in Kolkata or not, the fervour and enthusiasm associated with the festival can be spotted anywhere across the country. This year, the festivities have already kickstarted on 14 October (Panchami) and will go on till 19 October (Dashami).
