Health & Family Welfare Department Kullu, Himcahal Pradesh came into existence on 1st November 1966. Chief Medical Officer of District Kullu office is located in the Dhalpur in Regional Hospital Kullu.
Kullu District have five Block head quarters which include 1 Regional Hospital, 4 Civil hospitals, 3 Community centres, 23 Primary Health Centres and 101 Sub-centres have the population 4,37,434 as per Census 2011.The Regional Hospital Kullu provides the Health services to the people of the district Kullu and adjoining districts of Lahul & Spiti, Pangi(Chamba) and Mandi District.
Director Health Services of Himachal Pradesh is committed to provide preventive, promotive, curative and quality health services at an affordable price to the people of the Area. For this wide network of health Institutions consisting of hospitals, community health centers, primary health centers and sub-centers have been opened to cater to the health needs of rural and urban population through well trained medical and paramedical staff.
The Government of Himachal Pradesh has provided the advanced 10 Bedded Trauma Centre which is well equipped with the central oxygen supply to 300 bedded hospital. In the month of January 2017 the Government of HP has opened the Dialysis Unit with the 6 Bedded Capacities & Cancer Care Unit has also been started with effect from 24th March 2017. The advanced Eye Centre with the faco machine has been dedicated to the peoples of Kullu by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
District Disability Rehabilitation which is run by the District Red Cross Society Kullu has also made functional in the premises of the Hospital which provides the artificial Limbs, Mental health and Drug de-addiction, Physiotherapy and Speech therapy.

β β β β β We carried out a plantation drive that started with MS Dr. Naresh Chand planting the first plant. We planted medicinal plants along with marigold and a tree in the hospital premises. It was a mini-step towards the beautification of Kullu. We planted flowers in the hospital premises because flowers tend to improve a person's mood and maybe the patients would feel somewhat relaxed and fresh by seeing the flowers.

β β β β β Good infrastructure but doctors are not available . we are waiting for doctors since 9 am in the morning but till 1:00 pm there is no doctor in 309 . Thats why people prefer Private hospitals rather than government hospitals .

Regional hospital is growing good but it lacks when it comes to staff availability.
No doubt doctors and other medical staff are very helpful but a bit more improvement is needed.

β β β β β Doctors here only work for emergency cases, we are waiting outside of room no. 119 from 9am in morning. No doctors till time of 12:40. We tried to talk with gaurds they said doctor is in round and will available by 12noon still no sign of any doctors. At registration area they should have told us that doctor will not able to check any patient's due to emergency, so no ones need to wait here by standing from hours.
Or else they should have signed extra doctors for general checkup only. Every middle class people wait patiencely but no one taking responsibility.

The facility also double up as covid treatment center.
Very good and able medical staff. Food served is a bit sad.
All the beds have cctv installed so that doctors can keep watch on patients. Nurses visit patients every 3 hours to check vitals and administer scheduled doses.
Having spent 7 days in covid ward, i must say, thank you.to government and hospital staff.

There is no shortage of any kind in this hospital.Due to lack of staff and doctors not coming on time, the treatment is not complete. Kullu hospital is the first in entire Himachal Pradesh where online OPD slips are available . the hospital is located at a distance of 1 kilometer from Kullu bus stand.Hospital filled in the lap of nature all around .
