★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Head works has historic data back to 18th century, 1st Anglo - Sikh treaty was signed on the bank of river Satluj,though sucessive govt gave sold land n sight of this historic importance to Swaraj- mazada company.(shame) 2ndly, Ropar water head works ,distribution of canals,construction,n desigin was created by Britishers, worth seeing and spending time, near by their is verka milk bar, old boat house, and riverside walk, must watch place is museum in Ropar. old babar shahi masjid, hudge architecture ..must appreciate.

The Sirhind Canal is a large irrigation canal that carries water from the Sutlej River in Punjab state, India. It is one of the oldest and biggest irrigation works in the Indus river system, and was inaugurated in 1882 CE. The canal begins at Ropar headworks near Ropar city in Rupnagar district of Punjab.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the best place I visited, after doing 9 to 5 job from Monday to Saturday u just come this place on Sunday plug in your earphones just seat there and enjoy the atmosphere, cold air,sunset, and natural beauty of sutlaj river. I visited in march @18.00pm so atmosphere I is great and little bit cold around 21 degree strong winds so you may feel even colder.
