★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Architecture is quite similar as found in nearby Nalanda University ruins. There is similarity in the bricks and the way bricks have been arranged.
A modern hindu temple has been built when statues would have been found. The temple seems 30-40 years old but not sure.
There is a huge statue of Buddha. Onto the same rock engravings of various deities can be seen, particularly Rukmini, wife of Krishna.
Excavation was started and even boundary wall work was started but seems to have been stopped.
One can find a guard in nearby quarter but he has little knowledge. ASI should put some description on a plaque and promote it along with Nalanda. Distance is roughly 2-3 kms from Nalanda.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is the remains of an ancient Buddhist Monastery. Ruins of few brick stupas and brick foundation structures can be seen here. On the top of the brick mound there’s a new shrine room which enshrined a very ancient stone Buddha statue with Bhumishparsha mudra. Bhumishparsha mudra indicates the supreme enlightenment of the Buddha under the holy Bodhi tree. It is a well carved statue and really a master piece. Local people converted it as a Hindu shrine by giving the name Rukmani to the Buddha statue. 2000 years a go all these area were Buddhists and they have built many monasteries around the Nalanda Buddhist University. This is an one of it.
You can reach here simply by a car. Huge empty flat area is there inside the premises and it can be used as a parking lot. The day that we went there the vihara was closed and the local person said that the key is with the officers of the Archaeological Department. But we could see the ancient statue clearly from out side.
