Good place to visit. One can visit the Sanchi stupam of the Ashoka period. Although the place is very small, it has a connectivity through a Railway station. A MP tourism hotel is situated nearby which is the source for your accommodation. Don't expect luxuries, but a decent place to visit.

Sanchi Railway Station The railway station is located at a very good place because you have to just go straight and you will reach the world famous Sanchi stupas ( UNESCO World Heritage Site) The station was neat and clean. The station have only 100meter of shaded area which is good in the time of summer. Good clean station.

The town of Sanchi is synonymous with Buddhist Stupas - hemispherical structures typically containing relics of the Buddha or his followers. A visit to Sanchi will bring alive the awe you felt as a child as you listened to the tales of Ashoka. There are several other hidden buddha sites situated within the radius of 30km of  Sanchi that offers significant Buddha teachings. While visiting the Sanchi Stupa you can also see the  Buddha Jambudweep a 17-acre theme park situated right in front of the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) Sanchi Museum dipecting  life and preaching of Gautam Buddha and Emperor Ashoka. Buddhist Monuments at Sanchi On a hill overlooking the plain and about 40 km from Bhopal, the site of Sanchi comprises a group of Buddhist monuments (monolithic pillars, palaces, temples and monasteries) all in different states of conservation most of which date back to the 2nd and 1st centuries B.C. It is the oldest Buddhist sanctuary in existence and was a major Buddhist centre in India until the 12th century A.D.
