★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice and easy fort to climb. Not difficult. Path to the fort is well maintained. People are appointed to take care of the fort. There well structured well on the fort. There is a small temple in middle of that well. Don't forget to see this well .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Simple fort for trekking. Around 120 km from Pune (20 km from Phaltan). You can visit the fort either by your own vehicle or using public & shared transport. You can visit Phaltan by ST bus and from there you will get shared transportation (like 6 seater). Actual trekking route is quite easy and self explanatory as hoardings are installed on the route. On the fort you will find some broken old structures, doors, fort borders, etc. You will find one well on the fort - if you do not observe it properly then you might miss it. From the top, due to oversight, you might feel it as some area on the fort. But when you follow the route carefully you will find this interesting well. Please have a look at the photos for getting idea about this fort and trekking.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Santoshgad is a small fort near Phaltan.
Once you reach the base village, Park your car near a govt school.
After walking from the school take a small marked trail near a small temple on your right.
Just follow that trail. Trail is very easy to locate due to white board put up by the forest dept at fixed internal till the top.
After about 15 mins on the trail you will reach a small junction, where the right trail takes you to the fort (ballekilla) while the left one take you to the ashram.
Ashram basically are near the Water taki of the fort. Most of takis are buried.
After taking the right trail you will reach first darwaja of the fort and then the Mahadarwaja of the fort.
Just walk from the mahadarwaja to reach the highest point.
The highest point of the fort has many ruined of Kacheris and other building of that era along with a big taki with 15-20 rock cut steps.
Fort has 2 Cilkhati buruj on the east and south end with Chorwaat.
It will take less than a hr to explore the whole fort.
