There are many options for Bengali Food in Kolkata, I feel like Saptapadi is one of the finest. Visited this restaurant after a good research about good Bengali Food joints in Kolkata and I’m not at all disappointed. It’s a small restaurant but their food and service is absolutely mind blowing. We thought of ordering Á la Carte but we chose to have the Thali so that we can try more number of dishes. We had their FISH THALI & CHICKEN MUTTON THALI both of which included a good number of dishes. Luchi, Rice, Chholar Dal, Shukto, Katla Fish, A Choice of Bhetki/Chingri/Aar/Pabda Fish, Chatni, Mishti and Papod was included in the FISH THALI. In the CHICKEN MUTTON THALI there was a Chicken Kosha and Mutton Kosha instead of the Fish Preparations. The Chhokar Daal, Shukto and the Chicken Kosha was my favourite among all the dishes. The fish curries were also delicious. Also their LICHU LONKA SORBOT was something unique to try. Apart from the food what I liked the most about this place is their staff. The staff along with the owner came to us and to the other guests asking about the dishes and the service quite a few times which was really nice and genuine. A must visit place if you’re looking for great bengali food. Unfortunately I couldn’t click many good photos.

Every dish of Saptapadi is a super hit like Uttam-Suchitra duo. Although the price of food is a bit higher than the rest of the Bengali cuisine restaurants in the vicinity, but the taste is incomparable. The stuffs are very professional and helpful. There are a variety of thali available here, each of which is mouthwatering. If you are planning to have a bengali cuisine, I would suggest you to visit this restaurant with no second thought.

Great experience. The music, cutlery all created a very enjoyable mood. The food quality was really good too, didn't expected such considering normal prices on the menu. The fish was very fresh. The special drinks were experimental, might not be for everyone . We had kacha lonka chicken, sadly it was made quite less spicy. Their special mutton dish was too tasty. How they are giving such quantity of mutton at low price is beyond me. The thali prices were great too. This can be a easy choice for a family meal. Their covid policies seemed good too. Update: over the last month they have updated the menu . The items are priced seriously high now. The taste is still good but no longer affordable. The place remains near empty most of the time now. Removing one star.

Saptapadi has become my all time favorite place to have bengali food in Kolkata. Here the food is so tasty that I can't explain it in words. Every bengali food lovers should visit this place atleast once. There are many options in thalis as well as in separate main courses. You can get both vegetarian and non vegetarian options in thalis, but according to me nonveg thali is the most value for money. Here thali starts from 499 and it goes upto 999(I guess). If you come here order "special Amish thali" which costs 699rs. You'll get more than enough food in this thali only, you don't need to order any extra add-on. This thali comes with gandhoraj lebu, salad, rice/pulao (unlimited), luchi (unlimited), cholar dal, sukto, jhuri alu vaja, a big fish fry (in other fancy restaurants it'll cost minimum 250) with a tasty dip, alur dom, parshe macher jhal, chicken/mutton (2pcs), chingri, chatni, papor, rasogolla. Hope this helps.
