This school has been generating some the finest scholars & intellectuals who has contributed toward Bengals culture & economy in all fields from Scientists,Athletes, footballers, Doctors, engineers,social reformer, & politicians.
This all started some 160 years ago when one of the local zamindar named Anath Mitra gave one of building to open a school for boys & the second property for in the name of his mother Jageswari Girls & since the school begin the hub of educationist & intellectuals.
The school is currently subsidized & sponsored by the Government of West Bengal.
The school is mainly divided in 3 parts, the primary section, High school (Madyamik) & the higher secondary (WBCHSE), the higher secondary section offers streams in science,commerce & Humanities offering wide range of rare combinations of Geography, Mathematics & Economics.
The school has a playground & also represents in the district level & state level in sports.
They has a football squad & a cricket team as well.
