★ ★ ★ ★ ★ भारतवर्ष के 12 ऐतिहासिक सूर्य मंदिरों में प्रथम म॔दिर। ऐसी मान्यता है कि इस सूर्य मन्दिर का निर्माण द्वापर युग मे भगवान श्रीकृष्ण के पुत्र साम्ब ने करवाया था। यह सूर्य मन्दिर एक ऊँचे टीले पर स्थित है। यहाँ के स्थानीय लोगों की मान्यता है कि साम्ब द्वारा बनाये गए मन्दिर का भग्नावशेष इसी टीले के अन्दर है। कालान्तर में 13वीं सदी में उसी टीले पर वर्तमान मन्दिर का निर्माण कराया गया था।
 First temple among 12 historical Sun temples of India. It is believed that the creation of the Sun temple in Dvapara Age was built by sAMba son of Lord Krishna. This Sun Temple is situated on a high mound. Here is the local belief that the temple made by sAMba ruins is in the same mound. In the 13th century Later was built the current house on the mound.
