★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Many locals are going towards sonarpur, Baruipur, Diamond harbour, Namkhana, lakshmikantapur, canning,Budge Budge etc. Though trains are very frequent, all are very much Crowded most of the time. Specially at the morning time and evening time , Train compartments are too crowded.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Grand Welcome of Swami Vivekananda on Arrival, after His historic Speech & Presentation of Hindu Philosophy, Darshan & Way of Life at Chicago World Religious Conference in 1893, first ever Hindu Participant invited to speak.
On His Homecoming, He sailed back & landed at Budge Budge Port ( Basically, Budge Budge is Bulk Oil Containers offloading Port, in then 24 Parganas ( undivided District ).
On Morning of 19th February 1897, Friday, He reached major Suburban Railway Hub of Sealdah, in South Section Platform. Millions of citizens of Calcutta & nearby districts, assembled hours before His arrival, many reached previous night.
Amazing aspect being, in era of No Mobile, Social Media tools, Television, Radio, restricted Newspapers Circulation around Calcutta city, through word of mouth, millions reached & accorded impromptu Reception to Great Hindu Monk.
This small epitaph, mounted on side wall of insignificant lobby/ Hall of Sealdah South Section, where daily commuters rush to Sealdah Main section & North section and exit to Kolkata Business places & Offices.
Wish this Epitaph gets better viewing & prominence, English & Hindi versions also displayed.
Well Lit corner designated with Befitting Digital Portrait & Gallery, so Heritage & legacy of great Philosopher is disseminated to future generations

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ South sealdah Railway is really good for local and inter state express trains.
It got irctc lounge service where 20 ruppees per hour with ac facility.
Shops are there for needs
Local vendors sell fruits and vegetables.
Toilets are just ok.
Ticket service is not enough as very large number of passengers are waiting even in 4 am Morning.
Local trains are not quite often yet take hours.
Follow local kolkata suburban trains app for use.
