THE OTHER NAME IS AKNA GIRLS' SCHOOL. IT IS WEST BENGAL GOVERNMENT SPONSORED SCHOOL. IT IS UNDER WEST BENGAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION FOR MADHYAMIK AND WEST BENGAL COUNCIL OF HIGHER SECONDARY EDUCATION FOR HIGHER SECONDARY. IT WAS FOUNDED IN 1879. THERE IS PRIMARY SECTION FROM INFANT TO CLASS FOUR IN THE MORNING. THERE IS ALSO DAY SECTION FROM CLASS FIVE TO CLASS TWELVE. THIS IS UNDER WEST BENGAL BOARD. FROM FIVE ONWARDS, THERE IS BENGALI AS WELL AS ENGLISH MEDIUM FOR EDUCATION. FOR HIGHER SECONDARY, THE SCHOOL OFFERS BOTH SCIENCE AND ARTS STREAMS. THE SCHOOL DOESN'T OFFER COMMERCE STREAM. THIS IS VERY RENOUNED SCHOOL AND STUDENTS COME HERE FROM FAR DISTANCES. SOME STUDENTS APPEAR IN TOP RANK IN MADHYAMIK AND HIGHER SECONDARY EXAMINATION RESULTS. Verbally known as Akna girls'.Teachers are strict but very helpful.There are 3 three-storied buildings in the school premisesalog with a playground and auditorium beside the school building.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've read in this school from class 5 to class 12. it is the best Bengali medium girls' school in the town. one of the famous schools in the district. locally it is known as Akna girls' . Teachers are strict but very helpful . they encourage students to participate in cultural programs and sports organised by the school. there are 3 three-storied buildings in the school premises . there is a playground and an auditorium beside the school building . school organises Saraswati puja every year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It was my school. I read here from class 5 to 12. Coordination between teachers and students is good. Some faculties are really so helpful. Some faculties should be more improved. I got more privilege, more help in class 11 and 12, when I was in science stream. I really loved the lab facilities. And our school library was our favourite place of solace. Overall the school is good.
