शिलाहारांच्या कालखंडात ठाणे हे राजधानीचे ठिकाण होते, ही माहिती सुपरिचित आहे. पण ठाणे तर त्याहीपूर्वी अस्तित्वात होते आणि जगभर परिचितही होते. त्यांनी केलेल्या कामगिरी नुसार शिलाहारांनंतरच्या कालखंडात ठाण्याचे महत्त्व वाढतच गेले...
आमच्या कालच्या भ्रमंती मध्ये २ प्राचीन शिव मंदिरे होती. त्यातील एक लोणाड गावातील शिव मंदिर जे खूप काही सोसत हळू हळू काळाच्या मागे जात आहे. व दुसरे चौधरपाडा येतील प्राचीन मंदिर..(प्राचीन मंदिर म्हणण्यात काही तथ्य नाही.) फक्त दुर्मिळ अशी शिव पार्वती मूर्ती व अप्रतिम असे शिवलिंग आहे. पूर्वी असलेल्या मंदिराबाबत १८८२ साली आजू बाजूच्या परिसरात त्या मंदिराचा शिलालेख (दानपत्र) सापडला. व ते गावकऱ्यांच्या मदतीने सध्या मंदिर स्थापन केलेल्या मंदिराच्या शेजारीच ठेवला आहे. भारत पुरातत्व विभागाने त्या लेखाचे संपूर्ण मराठीत भाषांतर करून घेतले आहे व त्याचे संवर्धन करण्यात आले आहे.
शिलालेखातील आशय
शिलालेखात अग्रभागी सूर्य चंद्र व मंगलकलश कोरलेला असून खाली गर्दभशापाचे शिल्प आहे. शिलाहार राजा द्वितीय केशिदेव याने शके संवत् ११६१ विकारी सवस्तर, माघ कृष्ण चतुर्दशी शिवरात्री म्हणजेच २४ जानेवारी १२४० रोजी घोषित केला. असे उल्लेख आढळतात.

Regarding the earlier temple, an inscription was found in the vicinity of the temple around 7 years ago. And with the help of villagers, it is kept near the temple that is currently being built. The article has been translated and promoted by the Department of Archeology of India in Marathi.
The contents of the inscription
In the inscription, the sun is engraved in the foreground, and below it is a sculpture. Shilhar Raja II Keshadev declared the Shakti Samvatari Vikari Sastra, Magh Krishna Chaturdashi Shivratri, ie on the 5th of January. Such mentions are found.
