The water of this pond is stagnant because of this the pond is a bit dirty. You can see a beautiful view here in the morning and evening

Very good place, specially at evening, no rush at that time, so calm, only the problem is smell of garbage around it, government and local bodies should take care of it

Shivganga Kund Deoghar Shivganga is a Sacred Pond located 200m from the Baba Baidyanath Temple at Deoghar Jharkhand. Devotees take water from Shivaganga to offer to Lord Shiva at the the Baidyanath Temple. There is a huge Idol of Lord Shiva on one end of Shiva Ganga. Historically, the Pond has never dried up. History of Shivaganga According to Ancient Scriptures, when Ravana was taking the Shivalingam to his country Lanka, he felt the urge for urination. He handed over the lingam to a brahmin and went for urination. After urination, he needed to wash his hands and be purified before holding the lingam. When he did not find any water source nearby, he made a blow with his fist on the earth and water came out and formed a pond. This pond is now known as Shivaganga. It has been revamped by the Landlord of Lakshmipur and a temple was built by Raja Jai Singh. Importance of Bathing in Shivganga Taking a dip in Sivaganga is consideredequivalent to bathing in holy river Ganges. Pilgrims who come to Deoghar, take a dip into the Shivaganga to purify themselves before offering water to the Jyotirlingam. The water of Shivaganga is considered to have healing powers. In ancient India Ashwini Kumaras, doctors of gods, bathed in this tank and cured themselves from diseases How to Reach Shivaganga ? Shivganga can be reached within 10 minutes walk (distance 200m) from Baba Baidyanath Temple in North eastern Direction. A Direct Road links Shivaganga to the Singh Dwar of Baba Baidyanath Temple.

A very great place for worship. This place is near Baba Baidyanath Dham. Devotees are used to bathing before reaching Baba Baidyanath Dham. From here Devotees also bring water to devote to Baba Bholenath. There is also a statue of Lord Shiva in the middle of the pond. The water of this pond is very pure and clean. This is one of the attractive places of Devghar.

Beautiful place. But you can see how humans polluted the pond. It must be kept unpolluted. As of it is important for Hindu culture.
