Be very careful when purchasing goods from this store. Travel agents/Tour guides bring in tourists, much like lambs to the slaughter. The salespeople are very smooth, and the products are heavily overpriced. One never knows how much to negotiate, and if one is being ripped off. Pressure sales, WARNING do not order custom made clothing. Finished goods arrive late and are not as requested. Reccomend you shop elsewhere.

Prices depend on the quality you are looking for. Prices are either high but quality is good except of the pashima, which didnt convince me. If you are looking for cheaper prices you should go to a wholesaler or to a government shop with fixed prices. Ask in the hotel where you can find such shops.

Very disappointed! Taken here as part of tour and wanted silk fabric to make a skirt - they said they would make it for free and against my better judgement agreed. They were very amateur in taking measurements and then never turned up as agreed for me to try on - finished product was not what I ordered. They tried to rectify but still not what I ordered. This was the same for others on tour! Now we read the other reviews but too late.

HUGE SCAM!!! Stay Away! The degree to which this place will scam you is unimaginable. I was scammed out of a total of $225 (U.S.) They work with drivers who claim they want to take you to a place that will custom tailor clothes for you at a “great price”. The driver will say “I don’t won’t let my customers to get ripped-off.” (But they do because they get a huge cut from the sale.) They may even tell you that they used to work for the place. Don’t fall for it like I did. When you arrive they will butter you up by offering you Chai then take you to the area where they make their block prints and have you make your own sample. Pretty cool, but it quickly becomes obvious that the employees are well-trained in the trickery working through the process with you in lock-step. BTW: never got my sample. I ordered 3 dresses and one sari and purchased a few yards of silk. The dresses were very simple styles. When I returned the next day at 2:00 for my fitting: • Dress 1: $130.00 (U.S.) did not fit and had the wrong neckline • Dress 2: $90 was a tunic, not a dress • Dress 3: $70 was a train wreck. I told them it needed a zipper and they insisted it would fit without one. Of course, I couldn’t even get it over my head so they had to add a zipper. • Sari: Miraculously was charged $15 more than agreed! They had me in the shop for 2 hours while they attempted to alter the dresses. I missed the bazaar that I had planned with my driver PLUS, I had to pay my driver for the 2 hours we had to sit and wait for their tailor. I mentioned to the owner that an Indian friend of mine said I was horribly taken advantage of and the dresses should have cost no more than $20 a piece. I demanded a partial refund but the owner flatly refused. I had to settle for an additional dress made a no charge (like I needed 2 of the same dress). I finally left without the dresses which they promised would be delivered at 4:00 the following day. They showed up at 9:30 at night while we were celebrating my birthday dinner. Dress #3 was too tight! I was leaving the next day for Pune and had to take the time to return to the shop to have them alter the dress... Again! I was exhausted to the point of tears. It was badly ill-fitting from the beginning and I wanted a refund but the owner wouldn’t hear of it. I missed my visit to a palace because for this inconvenience. They gave me a cheap scarf that you can get at any bazaar for around $3 as a some sort of consolation prize. It needs to be mentioned that the workmanship on these dresses was completely unacceptable. I had to tell them to finish the hems on 2 of the dresses and one was never finished so I have to pay now to have it hemmed. The zipper on the 3rd dress was never finished off causing it to scratch me when I wear it. I questioned the very thin weight of the cotton which needed lining and was told it would be fine. One dress is paper thin and I now have to have it lined. See my photos. In stark contrast, I had 2 similar dresses custom made for me by V.G. Ramgir & Sons (23, M.G. Rd.) in Pune. They fit perfectly, the fabric is high-quality, beautiful and the workmanship is exemplary. BOTH dresses together totaled $39 (U.S.)

Pushy salesmen. Was given price for a shawl but I thought $65 was too much. I found another one they said was $35 so I decided to get that as a gift. I also picked out 4 fabric napkins out of flimsy fabric that looked like block print practice samples. Made the mistake of not asking how much the were. When I figured out the exchange rate later I realized they charged me $10 per napkin. In the States I can get four napkins like that for $5-$8. Seemed extremely overpriced

There is a very vast collection of dress materials to choose from. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable regarding their work. The team which runs it tries to make the buyer get exactly what they have in mind. Reasonable prices for quality stuff can be bought in very friendly environment.Their export of textile materials is done almost throughout the world.
