Hanuman is an ardent devotee of Lord Rama and one of the central characters in the various versions of the epic Ramayana found in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. As one of the Chiranjivi, he is also mentioned in several other texts, such as the Mahabharata, the various Puranas and some Jain, Buddhist, and Sikh texts.[8] Several later texts also present him as an incarnation of Shiva. Hanuman is the son of Anjana and Kesari and is also son of the wind-god Vayu, who according to several stories, played a role in his birth.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ One of the oldest Hanuman Temple in India, is situated at Baba Kharak Singh Marg in Connaught Place, New Delhi. It is an ancient Hindu temple and is claimed to be one of the five temples of Mahabharata days in Delhi.
According to Hindu beliefs, Pandavas built five temples including this Hanuman Temple after they won the Kurukshetra war against the Kauravs. The original temple appears to have been constructed by Maharaja Jai Singh about the same times as the Jantar -Mantar, but has undergone large scale renewals since then.
