β β β β β It is always divine feeling to come to Mahalaxmi temple. It is an over 200 year old temple.
Approach is from the gate of Trimbakeshwar mahadev mandir as well as a direct road little ahead on the same road.
Parking is difficult to get.
There are many shops selling Pooja thali 50-100rs as you approach the temple. You can keep your footwear there and then go ahead.
The temple is on a small hill so you have to climb 40-50steps to get to the temple.Once you reach there you feel divine as temple is spic and span. The silver dwajstambh and copper and gold shikharkalash are awe-inspiring.
There is queue to get closer darshan of the deity. It can be long and take time so try to go early before tourist crowd starts coming.
Staff can get rough and pushy during crowded days.
Darshan of the three gold faced idols blows all your tiredness away.
Now they are not allowing to go behind the temple so have to miss excellent seaview.
After darshan you can have cheap and tasty southindian breakfast at the base.
From Mahalaxmi railway station
ShareTaxi takes 20rs per person
While taxi fare comes to hardly 40rs
Don't fall for pushy share taxi drivers if you are more than 2 people.

β β β β β Blissful experience. Reach early morning by 7;30AM to have a darshan in 15 minutes. This Mandir and Siddhi Vinayak are two Mandir that everyone must visit in their Mumbai trip.

β β β β β Mahalaxi temple was built in 1831 by Dhakji Dadaji, a Hindu merchant.Β The Mahalaxmi temple contains images of the three goddesses Maha-kali, Maha-lakshmi, and Maha-saraswati.Β The locality is known Mahalaxmi. In the street for Mahalaxmi temple, I saw a beautiful temple of bajrangbali in golden colour. Presently it opens at 8 AM due to covid-precaution. But the timing may be restored with early opening in coming days. It's also a famous tourist spot in Mumbai for Hindoos.

β β β β β Beautiful temple and easily reachable. Weekday the crowd is comparatively less. Lots of sweets shops outside the temple. Parking is an issue if you take your own vehicle. Would suggest use taxis. They will just drop and go. V
