On the boundaries of 'Vidarbha ` and 'Marathwada ` in Maharashtra , there lies one very famous and historical temple of 'Balaji' in Deulgaon Raja in district Buldhana . This place is well known for the temple of 'Shri Laxmi Venkatesha '. Deulgaon Raja is a small village in Buldhana district placed near to the city of Jalana and Aurangabad. Deulgaon Raja is a very old village with very great culture and huge historical backup. Sindhkhedraja birthplace of Jijabai, mother of the noble king Shivaji is situated just 12 kms away from Deulgaon Raja. Even today in Deulgaon Raja the progeny of Jijabai Mr. Rajendrasingh Jadhav is trusty of the 'Shri Balaji Devasthan'. There are thousands of holy places of Hindus in this country. One of them is 'Balaji Devastahna' from Deulgaon Raja. There are some controversies about the origin of this temple. But there is no controversy about the presence of the great god Venkatesha who is always present here for his devotees. Shri Balaji from Deulgaon Raja is considered as the incarnation of the Tirupati Balaji from State of Andhra Pradesh. Long long ago in the old days when there were no vehicles, it was a very difficult task for the devotees of god Venkatesha to go to 'Sheshadri' for taking 'Darshana' of the god. It was nearly an impossible task for old and handicapped people to go Tirupati. So for the sake of his devotees' god Balaji came down from Tirupati to Deulgaon Raja. God came down to Deulgaon Raja by calling a 'Brahmin Devsharma' of 'Kanva' origin. Progeny of this 'Devsharma' are still in Deulgaon Raja who is known as 'Pujari' of god Balaji. 'Pujaris' carry out all festivals and day-to-day activities of the temple. Also vows to god at Tirupati can be paid back to Shri Balaji here. As stated earlier there are controversies about origin of this temple and who built it. Some people think that brother of Mr. Lakhuji Jadhav, Mr. Jagdevarai Jadhav is the founder of god's idol in the temple. But according to Shri Sadguru Vankratunda Maharaj this idol from the temple is thousands of years old. The idol of Shri Venkatesha along with goddess Laxmi in the temple is as small as a forefinger and is made of five precious metals. The idol of Shri Venkatesha is decorated with many golden jewels. It includes various jewels of silver, gold, diamonds. There are many sets of these jewels and these different sets are wore by the god on different occasions. Some of these jewels are very old and they even can not be identified. Some jewels are devoted to the god by old kings, one of which is 'Shrimant Bajirao Peshava'. Indeed the god lives in Deulgaon Raja with all his prosperity.

Great place to visit in DeulgaonRaja. Deulgaon is a Town in Buldhana district in the state of Maharashtra, India. Deulgaon has an old Balaji Temple which is also popularly known as “Tirupati” of Maharashtra. This temple is founded by Raje Jagdeorao Jadhav in 1665. Every year there is a local festival called ‘Shri Balaji Maharaj Yatra’ in the month of October.’Latha Mandapotsav’ is major attraction of the Yatra. 42 nos. of ‘Mandaps’are erected in front of Lord Balaji’s Temple with the help of 21 wooden pillars called ‘Lata’. These wooden pillars are made from Teak wood.Height of each pillar is 30 feet and diameter is 1.0 foot. Balaji temple is very famous and it is among the popular religious places of Maharastra and more important is that it is in Deulgaon Raja. Balaji temple is famous for its own festival of "LALIT"(लळित). LALIT is the festival celebrated by all deulgaon rajakars. The big woods approximately of 30 feet 21 wooden trunks are arranged in line and have diameter of 1 feet. These trunks are worshiped by all devotees. That trunks are usually called as 'laata'(लाटा). The Sansthan handles the whole work and arrangement of mandir. It is called that the statue is found to Raje Jadhao. He proposed and created the temple. The area around the mandir is known as Baljai faras. The god balaji's statue is kept in palakhi during the time of dashera.
