Few things cannot be explained in words after visiting Shri Jagannath Temple. It's more clean than last time due to cleanup every Sunday as required for sanitization. Alone if you go you will not understand the value every corner of the temple, so you need Priest (Panda) for visiting this temple. Advantages of having own panda will allow to know the historical and faith in Shri Jagannath Temple and unnecessary hounding of other panda and you will be clueless after sometime. Now previously disciples were allowed near God Chamber, now it's not allowed due to protocol. Talk with Panda for Mahaprasad during lunch time as well other Prasad. As temple is open from 5am to 9pm. Another most important thing is Lord Jagannath Temple Flag Hosting on top every day during sunset. Crowd swells during the evening.

The Jagannath Temple is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath, a form of Sri Krishna in Puri in the state of Odisha on the eastern coast of India. The present temple was rebuilt from the 10th century onwards, on the site of an earlier temple, and begun by Anantavarman Chodaganga Deva, the first king of the Eastern Ganga dynasty. The Puri temple is famous for its annual Ratha Yatra, or chariot festival, in which the three principal deities are pulled on huge and elaborately decorated temple cars. Unlike the stone and metal icons found in most Hindu temples, the image of Jagannath (which gave its name to the English term 'juggernaut') is made of wood and is ceremoniously replaced every twelve or 19 years by an exact replica. It is one of the Char Dham pilgrimage sites. The temple is sacred to all Hindus, and especially in those of the Vaishnava traditions. Many great Vaishnava saints, such as Ramanujacharya, Madhvacharya, Nimbarkacharya, Vallabhacharya and Ramananda were closely associated with the temple.Ramanuja established the Emar Mutt near the temple and Adi Shankaracharya established the Govardhan Math, which is the seat of one of the four Shankaracharyas. It is also of particular significance to the followers of Gaudiya Vaishnavism, whose founder, Chaitanya Mahaprabhu, was attracted to the deity, Jagannath, and lived in Puri for many years. The temple was built by the Ganga dynasty king Anantavarman Chodaganga in the 12th century CE, as suggested by the Kendupatna copper-plate inscription of his descendant Narasimhadeva II. Anantavarman was originally a Shaivite, and became a Vaishnavite sometime after he conquered the Utkala region (in which the temple is located) in 1112 CE. A 1134–1135 CE inscription records his donation to the temple. Therefore, the temple construction must have started sometime after 1112 CE. According to a story in the temple chronicles, it was founded by Anangabhima-deva II: different chronicles variously mention the year of construction as 1196, 1197, 1205, 1216, or 1226.This suggests that the temple's construction was completed or that the temple was renovated during the reign of Anantavarman's son Anangabhima. The temple complex was further developed during the reigns of the subsequent kings, including those of the Ganga dynasty and the Suryvamshi (Gajapati) dynasty.

It's a beautiful for lord Krishna (Jagannath). Puri is one of the important place to visit... We went there not much crowed also good dharisanam...? The Maha Prasad is set of meals prepared by vendors which is primarily offered to Lord and then served to people for 100₹ / person.... COVID protocalls to be followed. You have to show double vaccination certificate and Adhar card for entry. Children are allowed... Sundays might be close, so please check it before going... Mobiles strictly not allowed... You need to keep luggage and footwear in lockers provided by temple authority. No problem with lockers except long queues. Parking (car) is about 500 meters away. From there temple cars are available for senior citizens (its free)... Others are using private bus ticket rs. 10. For more details check out the youtube channel "PriyaaWorld"

The Jagannath Temple is an important Hindu temple dedicated to Jagannath, a form of Krishna, in Puri in the state of Odisha on the eastern coast of India. Devotees will be allowed to enter the temple from 6 am to 9 pm on all days, except Sunday when it will be closed for sanitisation, said a new order issued by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA). If you bring Panda (Priest) of your own he can make you understand the history behind each and every corner of various temples located inside the premises also he can make your que and your Darshan very easy and short. The architect is marvelous of all the temples inside, Maha Bhog can be purchased inside the premises.

Famous Temple in India of lord Shri Jagannath, Balabhadra and Subhadra. Good Sculptures are there. Better to go with Covid vaccination certificate for Darshan or also with covid negative report for Darshan. All past 1 year changes in temple are captured and added here in one review

Place of Lord Jagannath Prabhu. Nicely maintained and taken all precautions for devotees. Anandabazar is a place for Prasad. Flags of the temple are being changed everyday at around 5.00PM. As per Hindu mythology all the temples exists within the premises. Ratha Yatra is the famous festival among all others festivals. Gates of the temple opened at around 04.30AM and devotees can visit upto 10.00PM. A must visited places for Hindus else Tirtha will remain incomplete.

The temple is very far away from where the vehicles are not allowed to go. The advantage is taken by auto drivers and they charge a lot of money to take is near the temple from some other way. It was very hot and I don't know if it was worth it. The prasad that we used to get here is also not given anymore. It is said that the ingredients are stacked on top of each other and the food is prepared by god. Wish I could taste that.
