The deity here, Lord Shani, self emerged from the earth in form of a black imposing stone(Swayambhu). The temple is maintained well and it's still in construction. Since the crowd keeps moving there's no wait here. One can finish the rites and the dharshan under 30 minutes.

Shinganapur a small village in Ahmad nagar district of Maharashtra has a famous temple of Shani Deva. Here the diety of planet God Saturn (Sri Shaneshwara) has appeared as Swayambhoo (a self evolved form) and has no shade over it. The presiding deity of Shinganapur, Sri Shaneshwara Graha Devatha is worshipped with utmost reverence and devotion by multitudes of people from all over the Globe, irrespective of colour, caste, creed and religion. Without a temple and a the inborn idol of Shri Shaneshwar black colour stone is worshiped by thousands every day unlike other pilgrimage centre, devotees can perform pooja abhishek or other religious rituals themselves. In Shinganapur no house has a door fram or a lock to safeguard, no shope has any door or lock in cash box. It is the injection of Lord Shaneshwara that no lock be used Here the idole stand on a platform of the 3 height under the open sky. He is standing here for the years together in all the seasons of rains, winter and summer without any shelter on the top of his head. The people tried to construct a canopy on the top but all invain. It is a living awake place But no temple. Shani Dev is standing on open ground - God is there but no temple. To the north of this idole, there has been an old Neem tree. Ifa branch of it grows and casts a shadow over the idol at noon, the branch automatically falls down. The shadow does not fall on the idol. A Tree is there but no shadow. All the houses in Shingnapur do not have door frames and doors not only this, but any house in this region should not have locks to the houses, cup boards, suitcases or boxes. If by mistake or by oversight anybody violates this custom he immediately gets a reprimand. To protect the houses from dogs the people just put up the curtains or a bamboo partition, A House is there but no door'. There is no fixed time limit for darshan. All the devotees can take darshan easily at any time. Here are no priests, the devotees who come to fulfill their Vows, promises (avas) are cordially helped by the villagers. Unlike other places, there is no que here. Women devotees are not to go on the platform. They take darshan from down side n he platform. Every devotee is required to be clean with a bath. Devotees pour water on the idol with wet clothes and perform Abhishek.

Temple atmosphere is good. **** Note : No need to pay money anywhere, If you feel to do Archanai you can buy a basket they charge 350 and tell you the procedure, but it's worth of only 200 and you might be cheated. They may ask to buy oil ( small packet 150 and big 250 both are less than 250ml) and a steel plate for donation 30 each (they may ask minimum 3). All these are not required since there is no poojari to do prayers just buy all these what you while going to the place (garland and oil) and just pray and come. I'm updating just to ensure there are no victims falling into it.

Very unique temple of Shree Shani Maharaj. An ancient temple which is famous for houses and shop premises, which are not provided with doors. Very popular destination after Shree Saibaba temple in this region. Crowded but well maintained by trustees. Ample parking and washroom facilities.

Definitely visit this Temple if you're at Shirdi. It's also possible to take Darshan at both the temples in a Single day.. We can head to Shani Shingnapur at noon, after taking Darshan of Sai Baba at morning/Noon. You can get Matador, mini van on sharing basis just outside Saibaba Mandir. Shani Mandir has it's own rules. We had left our footwear in the bus itself. There are many shops selling Pooja items outside temple & many of them just force us to buy the items. I don't think it's necessary. Altho they have the ability to convince us ? depends on our own beliefs.

Shri Saneeswarar Temple at Shinganapur in Maharashtra is big temple. The main deity is Suyambu moorthy (naturally formed). All devotees offer gingily oil to the Lord. This village Shinganapur is very unique in the world because all the houses and shops do not have doors. The villagers believe that the Lord Shani is protecting them and their belongings.
